Greetings Relatives/Frens/Humans! The Navajo Council Budget & Finance Committee unanimously approved the eligibility criteria, application and approval process for Hardship Assistance today, Oct. 15.
The B&F Committee made three minor changes to Legislation 0251-20, which sought final approval from the Budget and Finance Committee of the Hardship assistance eligibility criteria, application, and approval process, before approving it.
I posted Legislation 0251-20 yesterday here on my blog after the Health, Education and Human Services Committee also unanimously support it and move it to the B&F Committee.
The Health, Education and Human Services made One Amendment to Legislation 0251-20 before approving it. The HEHS amendment, which HEHS members Paul Begay and Charlaie Tso motioned. The Begay-Tso amendment made Navajo individuals over the age of 65 years and with Special Needs as the priority for Hardship Assistance.
And that means that the first batch of approved Hardship Assistance checks will go to individuals that are 65 years and older and those with Special Needs during the First Week of December. And so there will be no First Come, First Serve distribution of checks. And that is why the application period for Hardship assistance is the rest of this month, October.
The Budget and Finance Committee approved the Hardship assistance Eligibility Criteria, Application, and Approval Process about noon today, Oct. 15, which means Legislation 0251-20 must be Updated and Certified. And then Controller Pearline Kirk and her staff at the Office of the Controller will begin entering the eligibility criteria, application, and approval process into the financial portal for hardship assistance that they have built on the Office of the Controller website, www.nnoc.org/
if you go to the Following page on my blog, you can read about the Proposed Hardship Assistance eligibility criteria, application & approval process.
I will add additional information about the debate of the Budget and Finance on the eligibility criteria, application and approval processs for Hardship Assistance Program in a couple of hours.
And as soon Legislation 0251-20 is Finalized and electronically posted on Navajo Council website, I will download and post here.
Ahe’hee/Much Appreciation for Keeping an Eye on Navajo Government!
It is now 9:05 pm, 10.15.20, and Legislation 0251-20, which the Budget & Finance Committee unanimously approved 10.15.20, has not been electronically posted to the Navajo Nation Council. I will keep checking.
