$1.6M for Navajo Chapters’ Emergency Plans; Changing Council Rules; NHA Board; Supporting Haaland: On Naabik’iyati Agenda, 10 am, 3.11.21

It is now 6:21 pm, 3.11.21, and Naabi continues to Debate/Amend Legislation 0318-20, which are
Amendments to the Navajo Nation Council & its Standing Committees Rules of Order, which includes the Navajo Nation Ethics in Rules Law Code of Conduct for ALL Elected Navajo officials.

It is now 12:08 pm. Once again, Navajo Nation Council Delegates show their Business Management is “If We Build It, They Will Come…” SMH
The Council’s Naabik’iyati Committee is hearing a report on a Proposed Crownpoint, NM, Hotel. Navajo Nation Controller Pearline Kirk FLAT OUT informed Naabi that if they pass Directive to Navajo Justice Department & Controller’s Office to get the Crownpoint Hotel Project in place in 30 Days that means that Naabi is saying that the Crownpoint Hotel will be Funded No Mattter What.
Controller reported that even if the Navajo Nation gets a 50-year-lease for the Hotel, the Nation will not break even on its $8M investment, which is a GRANT, not LOAN, in the Crownpoint Hotel.
Council Delegate Edmund Yazzie, who has not attended a Law & Order Committee for Months, proposed Directive to Navajo Justice Department & Controller’s Office to get Crownpoint Hotel project moving in 30 days. And what does the Justice Dept & Controller’s office have to do with Moving a Nez-lizer Navajo Division of Economic Development Project?
Controller Kirk informed Naabi that Division of Economic Development shud be included in their Directive if that want they want. SMH Oh yes, the latest Market Studies on the Crownpoint Hotel is 2016 and 2017. And seriously Folks, Are Hotels making Money during this Pandemic?!

There are several pieces of Legislation on Naabi agenda regarding How Council Delegates/All Navajo Nation Elected Officials Conduct Themselves and How They Conduct Their Meetings, which includes PUBLIC COMMENT and REPORTS.
