Greeings Relatives/Frens/Human,
For those you planning to attend the annual Spring session of the Navajo Natinn Council, be prepared to park away from the Council chamber. I mean in parking lots or parking spaces that might require a five to ten minute walk. According to a Navajo Nation police officer standing guard at the entrance of the road leading to the Council chamber and Legislative Branch, an anti-uranium demonstration is planned. The entrance to the Office of the President and Vice President parking lot, which also serves as the parking lot for the Navajo Nation Veterans Memorial Park, also has a police blockade. I also asked the tribal police officer if he knew anything about the parking signs for the Council delegates getting tagged over the weekend. He said that he didn’t know.

I’ll be headed over the Council chamber as soon as I post this. I just got word that the police blockade is down but there is still a police presence.

And I contacted some individuals who have been very vocal about opposing the Navajo Council’s Resources and Development Committee’s legislation that created a Subcommittee of two of its members to work on a proposed agreement with Hydro-Resources Inc. to do a demonstration project involving In-Situ Uranium Mining near Church Rock, N.M. The individuals didn’t know anything about a demonstration and said that the grassroots people that they work with are busy with their regular jobs.

Here’s the Spring Council session proposed AGENDA.
