The Navajo Nation Council Speaker Johnny Naize is calling the Council Delegates to get to their seats. There are 15 delegates that answered Roll Call. It is now 11:20 pm and the Council is convened, Naize says.

Delegate Russell Begaye was asked by Naize to give the invocation. Before he gives the invocation, he says that the Navajo Nation Gambling Compact with New Mexico wasn’t approved by the New Mexico Legislature. He’s disappointed.

The navajo Nation Gaming Compact got voted down by the NM Senate. The NM House voted 36 in favor, 30 opposed And so at some point, I’ll be asking for a one on one meeting with colleagues to discuss options.
