Navajo Council approves $1.7 million for 6 chapters and 1 school

Navajo Council still debating Legislation 0027-14 which is for a total funding of $900,000 to renovate Lupton, Chichiltah and Chilchinbeto chapters.

It’s now 4:57 p.m.

Delegate Walter Phelps is asking for $180,120 for Cameron chapter multi-purpose building but Phelps is missing some documents.

15 in favor, 0 opposed

DELEGATE LORENZO BATES
Amendment: $150,000 from Reserves for Newcomb chapter for waterline extension to include planning, construction.

We’re piling on again and this is for waterlines, which is something completely different. And i’m probably already voting no cuz piling on…

14 IN FAVOR, 1 OPPOSED

DELEGATE JONATHAN NEZ
$75,000 for navajo prep school for chain link fence for safety of students and staff. Property line has transients coming in and this is Navajo Nation property.

The three chapter requests went thru proper process and afraid Prez shelly do line item veto. Maybe we cud redo these and go thru process otherwise jeopardizing three chapter requests.

I assumed that all documents ready. Mexican Springs has all the documents. And if we have to wait for review then it slows down legislation.
