Naabik’iyati Committee supports Levon B. Henry for chief legislative counsel

Naabik’iyati Committee now on Legislation 0062-14: appointing Levon B. Henry as chief legislative counsel.

DELEGATE ALTON SHEPHERD
This council was just learning laws and that legislative counsel serves at pleasure of council. this amendment might be late in game but I’d like an addition to staff at legislative counsel.
the other is question that cud be answered. Levon Henry went thru president shelly but never got response from Shelly.
Amendment specifically acknowledges that Levon B. Henry serves at pleasure of council and that new council may select own chief legislative counsel.

DELEGATE NELSON BEGAYE
i have been asking Speaker Naize for candidates for chief legislative counsel for a long time.

DELEGATE SHEPHERD
I’m not saying no. It’s just recognizing law that chief legislative counsel serves at pleasure of council and new council may keep Henry or select new one.
