Uranium and Grazing Act
March 17, 2014 Professional Journal

Greetings Relatives/Frens/Humans,
The Navajo Nation Council’s Resources & Development Committee’s Subcommittee on a Proposed Agreement between the Navajo Nation and URI/Uranium Resources Inc., for a demonstration an in-situ uranium project near Church Rock, N.M., is meeting today, March 17, at 10 am at the Navajo Nation Museum in Window Rock, Ariz.

According to the RDC Subcommittee AGENDAAGENDA, the RDC Subcommittee hopefully may review the RDC legislation that created it and allow the Navajo Nation Department of Justice to explain to the Subcommittee, which consists of RDC members Leonard Tsosie and Leonard Pete, that the RDC’s legislation is illegal.

Well, it’s 9:09 am and I want to make sure that I have all my social media equipment up and running so I can provide on the spot news coverage of the Subcommittee meeting.

But before I head out down the road, I want to make a special note to that those readers of “Marley Shebala’s Notebook,” the Navajo Council’s Naabik’iyati Committee is meeting on the proposed Navajo Range Land Management Act or Grazing Act in Phoenix tomorrow, March 18, and Wednesday, March 19. And that’s according to a MEMO from RDC Chairperson Katherine Benally to Speaker Johnny Naize. I’ll try to get more information on why this meeting, which deals with the Navajo homeland and the Navajo people and ALL of life living in, on, above our Navajo homeland, is being held in downtown Phoenix and at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
