NAVAJO COUNCIL DELEGATE LEONARD TSOSIE advising the withdrawal of proposed amendment for UMWA AND IBEW to join Coaliton because Coalition has not been born yet. Withdraw amendment and amend main bill to state that support groups that support keeping NGS and Kayenta coal mine operating past 2019.

DELEGATE OTTO TSO,  who said he was asked to sponsor amendment, is modifying amendment on Tsosie advice, and remove Coalition and replace with others and strike support.

DELEGATE NATE BROWN, WHO SPONSORING 0006-17, says coalition exists.

NGS REPRESENTATIVE JARVIS WILLIAMS, FORMER CHIEF OF STAFF FOR SPEAKER BATES, says coalition is non-profit group with 8 members and Naabi bill would allow Navajo Nation to take leadership role in coalition with labor and consumer groups to buifld support to keep NGS and coal mine open. Coalition not asking nation for funds but to take leadership role. Peabody involvement – actively working with Interior for new ownership and funding new studies for NGS be best source of power for Central Arizona Project. And regarding unions taking cuts will be answered down the road but to get to that level must take these steps.
