The Navajo Nation Council voted 13 in favor, 5 opposed on Legislation 0309-14, which was an over-ride of President Ben Shelly’s veto of CO-47-14, which was the Council’s amendment to the election code regarding the Navajo language fluency requirment for presidential candidates, which would have been retroactive to when an individual filed to be a candidate for the 2014 Primary Elections.
