HERE AT NAVAJO COUNCIL LAW AND ORDER COMMITTEE WHERE HRI IS PRESENTING ABOUT PROPOSED AGREEMENT BETWEEN HRI AND NAVAJO NATION FOR HRI TO HAVE A DEMONSTRATION IN-SITU URANIUM MINING PROJECT NEAR CHURCH ROCK.
DELEGATE ELMER BEGAY
I understand the Law and Order Committee Chairperson Edmund Yazzie’s position but there is still a resolution of support for HRI. And we have not heard from community members who are interested in jobs with HRI. And was there prior and informed consent?
HRI SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT MARK PELIZZA
in terms fo consultation, we have met with standing committees of Church Rock. Church Rock President Henry Begay is here and he talk about how we worked with CR. And why CR? It’s because uranium in there. God put it there. Since God put it there that’s the only place to go. And we have no uranium tailings pile. We have no interest in owning land. our only interest is to reach agreement with stakeholders. If u go to south Texas ou will see satisfied employees and we bring jobs.
