Here at Navajo Nation Council winter session at Council chamber in Window Rock, Ariz. Today is opening day and so several people have been recognized for their outstanding work and acheivements. Before the Council started, there was an awareness walk to end Human Trafficking of Navajo citizens. The Navajo Nation Division of Social Services and Navajo Nation Council sponsored the walk. Vice President Jonathan Nez and Speaker Jonathan Nez were part of the walk, which started about 8 a.m. from the Window Rock Mini-mall to the Council chamber, which is about 2 miles. It was 4 degrees below zero. But a hearty group of 15 individuals made the walk.

I interviewed two volunteers from the Navajo Nation Missing Persons UPdate, which is an all-volunteer group that started posting photos and information on Navajo people who went missing since 1956. As Delegate Nate Brown was recognizing community members, Delegate Leonard Tsosie complained that the Announcements, Recogniations were taking too long. Speaker Bates reminded Tsosie that the Council was still on Announcements/Recognitions. Brown said the Announcements/Recognitions was when Delegates thanked their community members for the outstanding work that they have been doing in their communities and he continued recognition his community members. Delegates Herman Daniels, Lee Jack, Otto Tso and Touchney Slim, Raymond Smith also recognized community members and thanked them
