PHOENIX⁠ — Governor Doug Ducey announced Wednesday the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) and Swire Coca-Cola coordinated to provide 30,000 liters of Dasani Water and two pallets of Coca-Cola beverages to the Navajo Nation. The two truckloads of supplies, donated by Swire Coca-Cola, were delivered this morning to Nakai Hall at the Window Rock Fairgrounds on the Navajo Nation.

Swire Coca-Cola is working to support communities in need during the COVID-19 emergency and reached out to the state to facilitate the donation to the Navajo Nation. The Governor’s Office connected Swire Coca-Cola with Arizona DEMA, which assisted with delivery logistics.

“Arizona is working with our tribal, federal and private partners to ensure the health and safety of all communities,” said Governor Ducey. “We are grateful for this shipment from Swire Coca-Cola to our neighbors in the Navajo Nation. My thanks to Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez, Swire Coca-Cola and everyone working to provide assistance to those in need during the COVID-19 health emergency.”

Arizona earlier this month received 100 additional ventilators from the Strategic National Stockpile to be deployed to tribal communities and critical need areas. The additional ventilators came at the request of Governor Ducey and Senator McSally to President Trump.

Additionally, President Trump in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved Arizona’s request for a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for the state. The declaration expands the state’s access to resources that will assist in emergency response efforts, including supplementing the efforts of tribal health care workers.
