Here at the Navajo Nation Council where the Council was scheduled to begin their annual 2015 Budget session at 10 a.m. It is now 1:12 p.m. and there may be a quorum. Yes there is a quorum.

But while I was waiting for a quorum, I was able to obtain an electronic copy of the PROPOSED FY2015 NAVAJO NATION GOVERNMENT OPERATING BUDGET. It’s a large file but very interesting.

And the word here on the Council floor is that legislation was drafted for to Continue the 2014 Budget for six more months, which would allow the newly inaugurated tribal administration and Council to develop their own 2015 operating budget. But the proposed 2015 budget developed by this Council and the Shelly-Jim administration has Coat of Living Allowance for the tribal employees which means that a Continuing Resolution or CR would postpone COLA for tribal employees for six more months.
