Navajo Housing Authority denies receiving $30,000 from Navajo Oil & Gas Company

Navajo Council Resources and Development Committee listened to a followup report from Navajo Housing Authority, which is a tribal enterprise that the Council selected as the federal Tribally Designated Housing Entity to receive annual federal housing dollars from US Housing and Urban Development.

i still want an answer from NHA regarding Navajo Oil and GAs. what kind of services would NHA provide to Navajo Oil and Gas to warrant such a payment.

NHA has not agreements with Navajo Oil and Gas, right now. $30,000 is new information. We got reach out from them regarding potential NHA vehicle fuel.

RDC is going over calendar to meet with NHA on HUD’s certified letter, which informs NHA that HUD will be deleting $96 million from NHA’s funds. Date is July 11 at Navajo Division of Economic Development or Navajo Department of Justice.
RDC is meeting with NHA in Dennehotso on July 16, which is also the same that the RDC Subcommittee on URI is trying to schedule a work session with Naabik’iyati Committee.
