Navajo Nation Council Press Release – NAVAJO NATION CARES FUND HARDSHIP ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT (10/30/2020)
WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. – The Navajo Nation CARES Fund Hardship Assistance Program provides direct emergency financial support to enrolled Navajo tribal members who have experienced negative impacts resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.

APPLICATION PERIOD
NOVEMBER 2-30, 2020

TWO WAYS TO APPLY
Online
Access the online application once the application period begins on Nov. 2 at www.navajo-nsn.gov or www.nnooc.org for safest and most convenient processing.
Paper
Official paper hardcopy forms will be available at participating Navajo Nation Chapter house locations for elders, those with disabilities, and those unable to apply online.

REQUIREMENTS
A valid Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) number is required. CIB copies do not need to be submitted or uploaded for an application to be completed.

WHO CAN BE INCLUDED?
One application may be submitted per household. You will need to know full name, Navajo Nation CIB numbers, dates of birth, and the last four (4) digits of social security numbers.

WHEN
One check per qualifying person will be sent to the mailing address provided and a will-call option will be available. The date of check distribution is being finalized and will be communicated.

Applications will be processed as soon as possible. Office of the Controller (OOC) team members may reach out with follow-up questions. Final application approval and determination of all payouts will be communicated after application period ends.

Office of the Controller is administering the Hardship Assistance Program under the federal CARES Act, Title V, and Navajo Nation Council Resolutions CMY-44-20, CJY-67-20, & CS-74-20.
