Navajo govt committee meeting with Four Corners Economic Development at FCED Farmington, NM, office to possibly back FCED & Kinetic Power LLC on Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center, 9 am, 4.6.22

Greetings Relatives/Frens/Humans, The photo with this post is from a March 12, 2022, Four Corners Economic Development Facebook post: “Great turnout for an excellent panelist group on the topic of hydrogen. Potentially a major new addition and energy value-add for the hard working energy workers of San Juan County and for the regional economy. Very broad community representation too!” The hydrogen panel and discussion was at the Farmington, NM,

It is now 10:57 am, 4.6.22, and the presenters for the proposed $3.6 Billion Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center informed the Resources & Development Committee that they have going to impacted Chapters/Communities and getting Chapter Resolutions of Support, which is Shameless, but standard Corporate Business Practice – Provide as Little info in English and not Navajo language as Possible & make sure the Info Paints a Glorious Picture of a Fabulous Alternative Energy Project that’ll be on Top of our Carrizo Mountains, near Teec Nos Pos, Ariz. and that this project will provide Hundreds of Jobs & the Navajo Nation can build onto this project with Solar Projects! Oh WOW! Yeah, right. I’ll believe that when the Resources & Development Committee also has presenters on the proposed $3.6 Billion Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center that present the Possible Negative Impacts. I’ll believe when the presentations by Four Corner Economic Development Committee and Kinetic Power LLC., to Chapters & Council automatically includes Indigenous technical experts/presenters for the other side of the story, electronically posted documents on their social media websites, electronically posted schedule of where they will be making presentations on $6.5 Billion Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center, especially to chapters and government officials from the Navajo Nation, states, counties, and Congress.

It is now 11 am, 4.6.22, and the Kinetic Power presenter for the Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center project Finally Say that the list of corporations waiting to financially back their proposed Project is the reason they came to the Navajo Nation. According to the presenters, if the Navajo Nation throws in their financial support, then the other investors will do the same….

Kinetic Power says the Teec Nos Post passed Resolution of Support. Tomorrow visiting Red Valley Chapter. Like to work with chapters to route transmission lines that makes least impact to those communities. Get first item, cooperation agreement, then make other processes formal so no surprises. Those are items needed to move project forward with RDC’s help.

Kinetic Power also says they want to Negotiate a cooperative agreement for land use, various payments, taxes, employment requirements of Nation such as Four Corners having certain percentage of Navajo employees. Suggest, land use agreement between energy producers, such as coal, Leonard Tsosie said coal contracts opposed.
But we could use those coal agreements as a framework. Willing to work with Nation on contract that is beneficial for Nation and could be use as templates for other projects on the Nation. Want action, get legislative and executive branches committee appointed, have Nation evaluate any ownership from 1% to 100%.
Kinetic Power not asking for any money. Fund with outside capital. But it is a great opportunity for Navajo ownership. Like to work with chapters to route transmission lines that makes least impact to those communities. Get first item, cooperation agreement, then make other processes formal so no surprises. Those are items needed to move project forward with RDC’s help.
Energy storage project and zero emissions. Chapter appreciate that they can project this size without emissions.

It is now 11:47, 4.6.22, and Tom Taylor, a presenter on proposed $3.6 Billion Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center, says they cannot provide Impact Studies until funding is realized and that can’t be done until there is a Cooperative Agreement between the Navajo Nation and Kinetic Power and Four Corners Economic Development for Funding to do Study. (Sounds a lot like Kinetic & Four Corners is Fast Talking, with Rickie Nez’s support, into a Cooperative Agreement to get Funding to Move Along Kinetic Power & Four Corners’s Proposed $3.6B hydroelectric project by having a Cooperative Agreement to get Funding to Produce Studies for any Type of Impacts of Hydroelectric Project of Kinetic Power & Four Corners…SMH!!!!
RDC chairman Rickie Nez says another meeting needs to be scheduled at Twin Arrows Casino & Resort so all the delegates can be educated. And a similar meeting should be held with Northern Agency Council where there also should be a Resolution of Support. Nez adds the Council needs to be educated at full day of meeting and include Beclabito Chapter because in their area. And include Delegate Amber Kanazbah Crotty, who represents Beclabito. Crotty says that Cove Chapters might be involved in proposed project. She adds that the Presenters of proposed hydroelectric project have also presented to Navajo Environmental Protection Agency, and NEPA needs to ID abandoned uranium mines in the area, where Navajo people have suffered from uranium.

It is now 12:10 pm, 4.4.22, and Resources & Development Committee Herman Daniels Jr. says that there’s a Project on page 11 of the Presentation of the proposed $3.6 Billion Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center project that the community opposed and so that projects shouldn’t be part of getting Support for the proposed Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center project.
Resources & Development Committee Chairman Rickie Nez informs Vice Chair Daniels that No Decision will be made today and until all affected communities by hydroelectric project are fully informed. And that’s why we need a meeting at Twin Arrows Casino & Resort, where we can all sit at table and ask quesions as we socil distrance, instead of a tele-conference meeting. We need to Have Four Corner Economic Developent planners at this big meeting at Twin Arrows Casino & Resort where OPVP, the Council, divisions & programs, and Beclabito Chapter.
Presenters on proposed hydroelectric project say they will remove that project.

It is now 12:22 pm, 4.4.22, and the presenters to Resources & Development Committee on their proposed Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center project Drop their Bomb…Their project depends on Using Navajo Water in the San Juan River.
PNM representative, Mr. Atcitty, giving Other Side of Story. He says that a Large Utility Project like the hydroelectric project is difficult to finance because it is a Large Utility Project and there ae a lot of regulations with timelines.
Navajo Council Delegate Amber Kanazbah Crotty asks Kinetic Power who they are meeting with at Red Valley Chapter tomorrow because Red Valley chapter had their regular meeting already.
Kinetic Power says the meeting is with Red Valley Chapter coordinator.
RDC chair Rickie Nez suggests to Kinetic Power that they should invite all the impacted chapters to the Red Valley meeting. Rickie Nez also continues pushing for Huge meeting at Twin Arrows Casino & Resort Kinetic Power & Corners Economic Development proposed $3.6 Billion Carizzo Four Corners (Beclabito) Hydroelectric Energy Storage Center.
Rickie Nez also wants NEPA, justice dept, land dept, water dept, nez&lizer, Navajo council, etc to be at meeting. He sounds like he already decided to support the hydroelectric project.
This is not the first time that Rickie Nez & the RDC decide projects that the Navajo govt will support WITHOUT FIRST GETTING the SUPPORT of the DINE’.

RDC Chair Rickie Nez adjourns RDC work session about 4:40 pm, 4.4.22
