Navajo Council over-rides presidential veto

Navajo Council convened its special session, adopted its agenda with one amendment, which was the deletion of Legislation 0220-14, Ratifying restated federal charter for the Navajo Nation Oil & Gas Company, and now the Council is on its first agenda item, Legislation 0358-14, Relating to Naabik’iyati’ and Navajo Nation Council; Overriding the Navajo Nation President’s Veto of Navajo Nation Council Resolution CN-56-14.

The Council’s approval of Resolution CN-56-14, which President Ben Shelly vetoed, created the Navajo Nation Limited Liability Company Act.

COUNCIL VOTING ON 0358-14, WHICH IS THE OVER-RIDE OF PRESIDENTIAL VETO. 16 “YES” VOTES ARE REQUIRED FOR OVER-RIDE. 18 in favor, 1 oposed
