NAVAJO COUNCIL IN SPECIAL SESSION AND AFTER LENGTHY DISCUSSION ON AMENDING AGENDA, ESPECIALLY THE ADDITION OF LEGISLATION 0131-14, THE COUNCIL VOTES TO MOVE LEGISLATION 0131-14 TO #1.

DELEGATE LEONARD TSOSIE
For the record, I ask council 0131-14 to make 0131-14 to agenda. Seconded by Delegate Russell Begaye.

DELEGATE KATHERINE BENALLY
There was no proof of emergency situation. No attack of sovereignty, natural disaster. Some of you delegates may muscle this onto agenda but for the record I want to state that there is no emergency.

AS DELEGATE KATHERINE BENALLY SPEAKS, DELEGATE LEONARD TSOSIE STATES VERY LOUDLY, “OUT OF ORDER! OUT OF ORDER!”

CALL FOR VOTE TO PLACE LEGISLATION 0131-14 AS #1 ON COUNCIL AGENDA at 12:27 p.m.
9 in favor, 7 opposed

DELEGATE MEL BEGAY
I ask for Council to take 10 minute recess so I can have my Legislation here before I make motion to add it to the agenda.

SPEAKER PRO TEMP BATES CALLS FOR RECESS AND CALLS FOR STAFF TO DISTRIBUTE LUNCHES TO COUNCIL

I ASKED DELEGATE JONATHAN NEZ AND LEOARND TSOSIE FOR COPY OF LEGISLATION 0131-14 AND THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO NAVAJO NATION RECORDS OFFICE AND GET A COPY. I’M BUMMED. BUT NOHT SURPRIZED. COUNCIL SAYS THEY STAND FOR TRANSPARENCY BUT THE THROW HURDLES IN YOUR PATH AS YOU EXERCISE THAT TRANSPARENCY. BUT I AM A GREAT JUMPER AND HAVE BEEN… LOL

AND I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THE ATTORNEYS THAT LITIGATED WHATEVER IS IN LEGISLATION 0131-14 ARE HERE IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER. I GOT PHOTO SO I’LL DOWNLOAD AS SOON AS MY CAMERA BATTER RECHARGES. SORRY…
