Navajo Nation presidential candidate JOe Shirley Jr. says that Dine Benally, who is Shirley’s vice president, is educated but grounded in Navajo culutre. He is father. he knows corn pollen path. he has grazing permit and you all know how we respect livestock. he has sheep. we have someone who respects our way of life.

he has a belief in scripture, family.

Seasoned leadership with young leadership. That is what we wanted. That is how we will win.

The world of Navajo is a complex world. we need professional leadership, educated leadership, leadership that can communicate with elderly.

In Washington, D.C., our laws are challenged. the young are challenged. and we believe that this team will overcome those challenges.

Dineh Benally is a young man. I have been there for eight years and we had many accomplishments. so we are looking for effective leadership and that is this team, “Shirley-Benally.”

Benally introduces his wife and children. “I’m ready to take on this challenge. As federal agent, I helped build schools for reservation. We are going to build more schools. We are going to make more money, which is why I joined this team.”

I’m going to stand behind my man. I’ll be loyal. Without loyalty, we’ll fail. and all those new council delegates have to understand we need to work together.

i didn’t join this ticket to lose. we are going to win. we’re going to dominate this election.

Shirley said that Benally worked for a Fortune 500 company.

Benally said he attended Shiprock High School and then to NM Military Institute and degree from NM State. Master’s degree. worked at Intel Corporation, Page Generating Station.

I got school built at Dennehotso and so Navajo Council Delegate Katherine Benally better join our team.

His parents are federal convict Donald Benally and his mother is the late Joann C. Benally, passed away from pancreatic cancer.

During Question & Answer, I asked what the position of the Shirley-Benally ticket was regarding coal mining, oil and gas drilling, fracking.

Shirley said that they’ll talk about that later. That is about Benally.
