12:25 pm, 12.28.22, Delegate Eugenia Charles-Newton asks about the status of her Legislation LEGISLATION 0240-22: An Act Relating to the Law and Order, and Naabik’íyáti’ Committees and the Navajo Nation Council; Amending Title 17 of the Navajo Nation Code, which she is sponsoring. Charles-Newton says that with additional legislation being added to Naabi agenda, she is concerned that there will not be enough time for Naabi to vote on 0240-22.
Chief Legislative Counsel Dana Bobroff says that since Naabi acted on 0240-22 by Tabling it to end of Naabi agenda, it continues to Navajo Council, which is what can also happen to Delegate Elmer Begay’s Legislation 0232-22, if that is what Delegate Elmer Begay requests.
