WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. – The Navajo Police Department would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of Corrina Thinn, a former Navajo Nation police officer.

Corrina began her career in law enforcement as a police recruit on January 8, 1999. She completed her police training with the Navajo Law Enforcement Training Academy in Toyei, Arizona in December of 1999. Corrina served as a Senior Navajo Police Department Officer with the Tuba City District from January 1999 to January 2010.

Throughout her career, Corrina excelled as an outstanding officer who was dedicated to her community and duties as a law enforcement officer. Although Corrina’s career began in law enforcement, her years beyond the force evolved to other endeavors that benefitted her community through her work in social work.

“On behalf of the Navajo Police Department, we extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Corrina Thinn during this difficult time,” Chief Phillip Francisco said. “To the family of Corrina, there is no amount of words that will ease the pain of losing a loved one but please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of our police family as you navigate through this time of mourning.”

Corrina Thinn was a Navajo Police Department officer for 11 years.

The Navajo Police Department is actively working with the Thinn family during this time of need.
